Brighton’s annual art book fair returns on 5 & 6 December at Phoenix Art Space for a third year. Bringing together artists for a weekend celebrating independent and artist publishing, BABF 26 showcases artist’s books, photo books, and zines.

Alongside the tabletop fair, the weekend features talks, demos, workshops, readings, and an exhibition by Yoneko Shiraishi and Nick West called Parallel Lines. Taking place in the Project Space, this installation combines a walk-in book structure illuminated with Japanese paper objects.

Hands-on workshops are led by tutors and students from West Dean College Books Department, as well as Poet’s Corner Arts Lab, and a family workshop delivered by Phoenix Art Space.

Our talks programme brings together Daniel Locke’s performative artist talk about the role of visual storytelling, and Eva Voutsaki’s artist talk concerns the role of mythology, memory, and the subconscious in her photo-books. In addition to these discussions, are a selection of readings of the books on show.

We hope that you’ll be able join us.

With thanks to West Dean Collage and Phoenix Art Space.
